This Food Truck Startup From Kolkata Serves Budget Kebabs That Are Out of This World

This is a story of a man who escaped 9 to 5 to pursue his dream career.
A thing that many of us could only dream of.

Back in 2016, when Sourav Bhaumik was working at a reputed IT firm in Bangalore, he felt that there was a serious lack of restaurants that serve great quality food at an affordable price range.

Specially for a dish like Kebab, one usually needs to shed around Rs. 250 – 300 which usually is a luxury expense for many.

Sourav decided to make Kebabs a go-to food for a common man, from a luxury that only a few could afford frequently.

The idea was to provide high quality, hygienic & super tasty food at a value for money kind of a price.

Sourav always felt that the famous Kolkata Kathi Rolls that we love and drool over are surely super tasty but on the other hand have too much oil in it and are quite unhealthy too.

He introduced Wraps, a healthier alternative to traditional Kathi Rolls, along with his affordable range of Kebabs in his food truck menu.

He launched his Food Truck initially at Shyambazar during Durga Pujas in 2018.

In the initial days, it saw a slow start as people were unaware of the brand new concept of Food truck in the area. People often used to ask “Dada Telebhaja hobe?” (Do you have fritters?).

After the festivities got over, he moved his truck to Unitech IT Park in New Town in January 2019.

It started catering to the IT employees working in the area who usually came during lunch hours. In the process, he understood that the employees always look for something that is ready to eat, since they have limited time during lunch or chai-sutta breaks. And preparing fresh kebabs and wraps were a bit time consuming. Also, if done in a hurry it won’t be able to retain the mouth watering taste that it promises to offer.

Hence, despite having a huge demand there, they were unable to cater to them.

Quick to realise that employees are not the kind of customers he is looking for, he moved his Foodtruck to Akankha in New Town and now caters to a residential crowd that can wait patiently for his Kebabs that are pretty much worth the wait.

Since then, Kebab Mein Haddi has been a superhit Food Truck in the area.

The Kebab Mein Haddi Food Truck is open everyday from 6pm onwards. You can spot their bright yellow Food Truck from meters away!

We recommend trying out their lip-smacking Chicken Seekh & Chicken Kebab Wraps and their Juicy Chicken Seekh & Reshmi Kebabs whenever you give them a visit.

Let you friends know about this amazing Food Truck,
